Highly Specialised Physiotherapist - Specialist Community Neurorehabilitation, Band 7 Fixed term contract (July 2020- April 2021) Maternity leave cover We have an exciting opportunity for a committed, highly motivated, enthusiastic and skilled Band 7 neuro-physiotherapist to join our multidisciplinary specialist Community Neurorehabilitation Service. Our Team provides individualised goal-based therapy to people with neurological conditions living in the London Borough of Bexley, in south-east London. The aim of the service is to maximise independence and promote healthy and active lifestyles. You must have proven experience of working with an adult client group in neurological rehabilitation at a senior level, and show that you are a confident autonomous practitioner with evidence of recent training with a rehabilitation/neurology emphasis. High level communication skills are required and you should have a flexible problem solving approach. You will be expected to be professional, have excellent clinical reasoning skills, and be efficient in your time and people management. You will provide specialist neurological physiotherapy assessment and treatment as part of the Community Neurorehabilitation service. You will need to work collaboratively with the MDT and other health and social care practitioners to provide the best care for those with neurological long term conditions. There may be an opportunity to supervise Band 6 physiotherapist, and provide guidance to therapy assistants and physiotherapy students. This post offers the opportunity to develop leadership and supervision skills as you will be a deputy to the part-time clinical lead Physiotherapist. You will be responsible for supervision of the Team as well as having a key role in service development. We provide our service to people in the place most suited to their current need, (their home, day centre, place of work etc) as well as in our own small outpatient gym. The service has elements that run from 08:00 to 17:00, and has rostered weekend working between 08:30 to 16:30. It is also essential that you hold a full UK driving license and preferably have access to a suitable vehicle for business purposes, although Oxleas offers a Lease Car Scheme to all substantive employees. Mileage is paid at 45p per mile. We are based at Queen Mary's Hospital in Sidcup. With on-going development within Bexley care the office base may change, but it will remain in the borough of Bexley. There is a well-developed supervision structure, dedicated CPPD time, and a variety of training opportunities including profession/skill specific, interdisciplinary, and personal development training.
