Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity to join a multidisciplinary, specialist Neurological Community service in the diverse borough of Tower Hamlets consisting of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Clinical Psychologists, a Neuro Navigator / Nurse and Support staff. THCNT works within the integrated framework of 'Tower Hamlets Together' and is supportive of innovation. There is opportunity to be involved in pathway development, quality improvement programs and close integrated working with a number of multi-agency stakeholders. This has been particularly pertinent during the COVID-19 community response. There are close links with the wider Neurological Physiotherapy service within Barts Health and also other community Allied Health Professionals working across the community health teams. THCNT has access to a neuro rehabilitation gym and hydrotherapy pool. The team sits within the same clinical directorate as Barts Health Neurologists. There is therefore enhanced scope for collaborative working, strengthening a neurological pathway with access to Neurological clinics. The post holder will gain / consolidate experience assessing adults and developing treatment programs for a broad range of neurological conditions in the community, within the realms of rehabilitation and disability management. There is also the opportunity to gain experience in delivering post COVID -19 neurological rehabilitation and to utilise innovation to develop sustainable virtual solutions to provide this service when face to face visits are not required. The post holder will also further develop leadership skills and will supervise band 6 Physiotherapists and influence the operational direction of Physiotherapy within THCNT. As one of the clinical leaders for the team, the post holder will work in collaboration with the other band 7s' (Occupational Therapist, Speech and Language Therapist and Clinical Psychologist) to support the AHP Lead in delivering an efficient and effective service underpinned by quality assurance, evidence based practice and patient experience feedback. We seek candidates who are dynamic and proactive and able to flex the service to respond to the current priorities. The service supports in-service training along with a robust personal development review programme to support staff with their learning and development. AHPs can participate in joint clinical sessions with their peers and the Allied Health Professional Lead. The post holder will be supervised by the Allied Health Professional Lead.
