Job Description

Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, Allied Clinical Services We are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join the multi-professional team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH). You will be the clinical lead working with adults with communication and swallowing disorders in acute medical and surgical wards, including critical care. Alongside other senior clinicians and managers you will be involved in developing the Speech & Language Service and fulfilling the potential of the profession within the hospital. You will have significant experience in working with adults with acquired neurological disorders and have specialist skills in dysphagia and tracheostomy management. You will also have experience in leading video fluoroscopy clinics, and supervising speech and language therapists as well as assistants. You will be contributing to developing a FEES service at QEH. The Speech and Language Therapy team offers opportunities to participate in innovation and research. Their project work in risk management within dysphagia won awards and received national and international recognition. You will participate in clinical supervision meetings with the Head of Speech & Language Therapy. There are regular team meetings and a well-established in-house CPD programme.
