Facilities Manager Based in Finsbury Park, LondonRef: BIC/FHSF20 hours per weekSalary on application Since 1991, The Big Issue has fought poverty by creating opportunities and supporting people to take control of their lives. Although we only have 140 staff, our brand is huge and so are our ambitions. We are looking for a Facilities Manager to be our expert on Health & Safety and help us provide safe and efficient working environments for our staff around the UK so they can do the best work of their careers. Your remit will be broad and you will work at all levels of the organisation with a strong focus on service improvement to make the most of our infrastructure. To succeed in this role you will need: • Facilities management experience - you are used to combining resources and activities to create and maintain an effective working environment on multiple sites • To be NEBOSH-qualified and possess the knowledge, skills and experience that fit you to be our H&S competent person • Project management experience - your projects are planned, managed and come in on time and within budget • Negotiation skills and getting good value from contractual relationships as well as experience of working with legal documents such as leases • Excellent communication skills, personal impact and the credibility that makes others listen * A supportive management style and the ability to set and monitor progress against clear objectives • An organised approach to achieving your objectives and plenty of initiative • Good IT skills - Word, Excel, Teams, PowerPoint and Outlook are among the packages you confidently use • The versatility to operate in a small but complex and fast-paced organisation, turning your hand to whatever gets the job done • The ability to make the best use of available budget • Great organisational skills and the ability to keep several projects on track simultaneously • The ability to follow through and finish to deadline what you have started Fleet management experience would be an advantage, but you must share our dream of changing the world and be able to adapt your style to work with the range of organisations and cultures that make up The Big Issue. You will need to travel within the UK on occasion but will probably spend much of your time in head office in Finsbury Park. We are equipped for flexible working, however, and can offer some flexibility in start and finish times and working days.
