Digital Investigations and Intelligence Officer (DIIO) Specialist Crime Operations, Force Investigations, Protective Services, Leek Wootton, Warwickshire The closing date for this vacancy will be 3rd July 2020 A unique opportunity has arisen for two skilled Detective Constables or Police Constables to fill two exciting roles in our brand new Cybercrime and Digital Investigations Unit within Warwickshire Police. Cybercrime continues to rise in scale and complexity, providing new and emerging threats, and criminals are increasingly exploiting digital technology and the internet to commit crime. Warwickshire Police has established a new Cybercrime and Digital Investigations Unit to empower our communities to be safe and secure in a digital world and support our vision of protecting people from harm. About the role Warwickshire Police is committed to developing our cybercrime specialist capabilities, and these roles will be focused on providing force digital intelligence and investigation capabilities, in support of cyber-crime, major and serious crime and matters of vulnerability and risk. About you These bespoke, specialist roles are suitable for either PIP2 accredited Detective Constables, or Police Constables who are willing to complete NIE and ICIDP to become PIP2 accredited/DC. We are looking for people with knowledge, skills and experience in intelligence and investigations, with a passion for tackling serious and organised crime, along with other forms of criminality. In return, we will provide you with specialist training in Cybercrime and Digital Investigations, and will fully support your ongoing professional development. Main responsibilities: To proactively gather intelligence and conduct further research and development to meet operational and strategic requirements. To provide digital field service, strategic, tactical and investigative advice, conduct examinations to secure and preserve evidence across all digital platforms and digital media. Including undertaking the role of Digital Media Investigator (DMI). To produce intelligence products for operational activities and conduct reactive and proactive investigations to target crime and criminals aligned to control strategy priorities and requirements. Including intelligence and investigative support for major and serious crimes/incidents. To ensure awareness of relevant covert authorities, legislation, policy and procedure, to make applications for authorisations/legal authorities. Through appropriate environmental scanning and proactively identifying opportunities for such methods to achieve the Policing objectives. Special conditions - On Call and working unsocial hours when the need arises. Must be willing to travel across Warwickshire.
