Job Description

We are currently recruiting for full and part-time staff to work on an established community-based programme in Hertford North, Hertfordshire. This would be home and community based. The ideal candidate should have experience in managing challenging behaviour under an accredited and best-practice framework. You will work as part of a team supporting a service user with a primary diagnosis of autism in Hertford North with a focus on life skills and community participation. Full or part-time, we accept experienced graduates, professionals from other disciplines interested in ABA or PBS, and candidates who have previously worked in ABA or PBS settings. Beam ABA Services support individuals with complex behavioural needs who display behaviour that challenges. Beam supports individuals diagnosed with developmental disability, learning disability, emotional behavioural difficulties and/or oppositional defiant behaviours. We offer globally-recognised, industry-accredited training [Registered Behaviour Technician] and support to give you the confidence and skills necessary to help make a significant positive difference to the lives of young people. You will be fully supervised and should be available to work evenings and weekends. We require all Beam staff to adhere to our Code of Conduct. Requirements Duties * To assist in the design and implementation of person centred programmes utilising Applied Behaviour Analysis and Positive Behaviour Support best practice * To monitor and take accurate data daily per service users targets * To support individuals during times of crisis - e.g., challenging behaviour. * To ensure all programme materials are organised and accessible * To model best practice and professionalism at all times * Enable service user to improve self-management techniques * To attend mandatory trainings, team meetings and self-directed e-learning modules * To promote safeguarding and wellbeing for service user to the highest standard * To implement restrictive techniques per service users positive handling plan as required * Flexibility to support service user during evenings and weekends * Other duties as required by your manager Required qualifications and skills * 1 year of applied experience working with special needs population * Experience of managing challenging behaviour * Experience of supporting individuals (children and young people) with complex behavioural needs Preferred qualifications * Undergraduate Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related field * 2 years of applied experience working with special needs population * Experience utilising ABA methodology * Clean driving license Benefits Full and part-time positions are available, paid at an hourly rate of 11-15 depending on qualifications and experience, 25 days paid holiday per year pro-rata plus full training and discretionary contribution toward professional accreditation. Immediate salary for full-time staff. All staff receive an IPhone.
