Job Description

Are you an enthusiastic person with experience of working with children and young people and would like to join our dynamic, supportive and passionate School Nursing Team? Have you had training to work with children e.g Nursery Nurse, NVQ Level 3 childcare, Foundation Degree in Child Studies or similar? Are you looking for a challenging and highly rewarding role of working with children, young people and their families? There is currently a vacancy of a permanent post covering the Buckingham area. You will be committed to supporting the team in delivering The 0-19 Healthy Child Programme and the new School Readiness Programme. Working with children and families on a 1:1 basis, offering support and advice following a health assessment as well as referrals from schools, parents or other professionals. You may also be required to participate in vision screening and the National Child Measurement Programme in schools. There will be training opportunities throughout the year and a supportive team to guide and empower your development. You will possess excellent communication skills to enable you to work confidently with colleagues, partner agencies in the community, children and their families. You will be prepared to travel to various community settings across the county according to the needs of the Service and must have a full drivers licence and use of a car. Previous community experience would be an advantage e.g working in schools, child and adolescent mental health services or social care.
