The primary purpose of this position is to provide overall administrative support for the Child Development Center (CDC) and Youth Program (YP). Responsibilities Provides overall administrative support for the Child Development Center (CDC) and Youth Program (VP). Generates reports, providing documentation. Financial and cash accounting; Computes, collects, and record patron fees. Provides customer service and information on the operations and services of the CYP interfacing with families from all four branches of the military and their civilian support population. In the absence of the Center Director, Assistant Director or Supervisory Education Tech acts as the supervisor on duty. Aids Center Director in overseeing office administration. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-04 or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes performing work that includes interpreting new instructions and procedures; reviewing operating policies, procedures, and standards references; preparing and consolidating reports; scheduling and arranging meetings; answering inquiries from internal and external customers; maintaining office files; attending meetings and informing Director of issues discussed; obtaining and monitoring supplies and equipment. OR EDUCATION: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Applicant must have a combination of qualifying specialized experience and education that when combined total at least 100 percent. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Knowledge of Child Development and Youth Programs and procedures to perform such duties as providing specific information about Child and Youth Programs, referring phone calls and visitors, preparing reports, etc. 2. Knowledge of cash handling techniques and procedures, common clerical practices and office routines, and security regulations and procedures. 3. Knowledge of word processing automation software functions to support office operations and produce a variety of textual and data based documents. Skill of a qualified typist with a minimum of 40 wpm proficiency required. 4. Knowledge of basic rules of grammar, spelling, capitalization, punctuation, standard abbreviations, and of format and clerical procedures to arrange a variety of materials from different sources. 5. Ability to interpret and apply DoD, Air Force and local policies and directives in order to carry out and coordinate many different procedures such as those required in registrations, collection of fees, maintaining office files, obtaining supplies, preparing various recurring reports, etc. 6. Skill in meeting and dealing with people of diverse social, national, cultural and occupational backgrounds and the ability to effectively communicate orally, with tact and courtesy. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
