Reporting to the Jacobs P Way Discipline Lead for York, the P Way Design Engineer will be capable of undertaking P Way 3D alignment designs for Feasibility, Concept, Detailed and Construction phases of a design project, including the P Way element of multi-disciplinary designs. Rail and Transit forms the major group within Jacobs Transportation Sector, sitting alongside Aviation and Highways. This single transportation business seeks to drive the key themes of Jacobs Connectivity strategy into our major rail clients to help realise these opportunities. Jacobs Connectivity strategy encompasses: Market Connectivity - Bringing the best solutions for our rail clients from across the whole of Jacobs. Global Connectivity - A truly global business with the most talented and industry leading minds. Digital Connectivity - Leading the way on digital connectivity in transportation. The P Way Design Engineer will be required to produce and to assist in the production of P Way alignment designs, drawings, design reports and associated documentation. The P Way Design Engineer will be responsible for checking designs produced by others and to represent the Discipline Lead at design development and review meetings and workshops. #UKTransportation #UKRail Essential: Numerate Engineer with relevant Tertiary Engineering or Scientific Qualification or working towards such a qualification. BRT user MicroStation user Railway track design or related relevant design experience, minimum 3 years Knowledge of other relevant software packages including Clear Route, ProjectWise, SD Calculator. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to produce CAD Drawings Ability to contribute to the production of technical reports. Desirable: Degree in a relevant Engineering Discipline, including Civil, Mechanical or Railway Engineering. (or Technical Qualification relevant experience) Technician Engineering membership of a relevant Professional Engineering Organisation or progressing towards membership. Knowledge of Open Rail software Understanding of multi-discipline railway design interfaces. Willingness to work overseas for short periods PTS or similar Why Jacobs?
