Job Description
The Disabilities Trust is hiring in York We're looking for a Full Time Ward Manager (1 year FTC) to join our friendly service, York House. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic individuals who will strive to deliver the best possible service for our service users. About Us York House is a 38 bed, mental health hospital offering neurobehavioral assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to adults with acquired brain injury who present with complex health needs and challenging behaviours. We offer a comprehensive range of services with input from our full multidisciplinary team, led by our Consultant Psychologist and Consultant Psychiatrist. About the role: As a Ward Manager at York House, you will be responsible for providing leadership and management to the ward team, ensuring the delivery of the highest standards of care and rehabilitation, whilst promoting and monitoring compliance including safe and effective practice. Main duties will include: * To provide the clinical and operational leadership on a daily basis ensuring that all exceptional standards of care are adhered to all times * Ensure effective admission/discharge planning with services user's care team * Empower and enable staff to contribute to the delivery of high-quality person-centered care * To provide clinical leadership by acting as a positive role model who practices evidence-based care, to ensure high standards of clinical care as well as ensuring that the service users achieve their goals. * To promote and facilitate a learning culture within the ward and a culture of reflective practice for all staff * Ensure that all staff have access to appropriate clinical supervisions and mentor-ship and that they know how to access clinical advice on complex issues * To ensure that preceptorship is available to all newly qualified * Promote the health and well-being of staff and note an sign of ill health or stress and well-being of staff and take appropriate action in line with Trust policies * To maintain departmental costs in line with budget and monitor revenue throughout the year * Maintain effective records management ensuring all documentation written or electronic is managed as per The Disabilities Trust and current NMC guidelines Requirements: * A RMN/RNLD Nursing Qualification * Proven experience managing a ward or large staff team successfully * The experience and ability to lead and inspire your team * Be able to demonstrate relevant understanding of the challenges associated with working with people with an acquired brain injury and/or an associated mental health condition * Mentorship in Practice(MIP) qualification or willingness to obtain same * Excellent negotiating and influencing skills Hours Hours available: 35 hours per week Benefits include: * A salary of 39,000 * 33 days holiday including bank holidays * Group Life assurance * Employer pension contribution * Eye voucher scheme * Long service and staff awards * Nationwide staff benefits such as Perk Box and discounted gym membership.
