Job Description

Children & Young People Service Coordinator Hours: Part-Time Location: Falconwood, Welling Salary: £20,000 per annum (pro rata) Due to the nature of the role, flexible working hours will be required. This may include after school and weekend hours according to the needs and delivery of support - although fixed days may be able to be established, with variable hours within them You will oversee the day to day working of our Short Breaks Scheme. The aim of the Short Breaks is to enable children and young people to have the same access to activities as their mainstream peers. We provide workshops, events, outings and activities to enable children and young people with autistic spectrum conditions from across West Sussex to engage on a one to one basis and within group settings. This will involve planning a schedule of groups, activities, workshops and outings for children in response to their needs and wishes and according to their age and capabilities. This post will be based at our Falconwood office in Welling in and you will be expected to travel to sites throughout the London borough of Bexley. Some key responsibilities will include: * To co-ordinate and support the development and delivery of our Short Breaks Scheme and specialist 1-1 outreach support for Children and Young People * Undertaking assessments of each Child/Young Person referred to this Scheme * Promote the health, welfare and development of Children and Young People * Manage support packages from initial referral and assessment to set up of support package through to review process * Weekly/monthly reports including attendance, financial information, all behaviour management observations and child protection issues Our ideal candidate will have: * NVQ 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent * Experience of working with vulnerable children/ young people (Essential) * Demonstrable working knowledge of autism (Essential) * Good spoken and written communication skills * An understanding of relevant legislation, policies, procedures and their implications for practice * A driving licence and access to your own vehicle (Essential) * A flexible working pattern, as the role will include some evenings, weekends and an on-call rota (Essential) For any further information, or to see a full Job Description, please call Alison on 0330 335 8997.
