Job Description

We are looking for someone like that to: Advise on complex employee matters like claims of unfair treatment, discrimination, whistleblowing as well as performance management, family and medical leave and health-related issues that are escalated from HR colleagues Support workplace issues and disciplinary actions including terminations, warnings and grievances Help support and advise HR colleagues on workforce strategy (reductions, acquisitions or divestitures) Manage disciplinary and grievance processes (mainly focused on the UK), including conducting investigations, making recommendations regarding disciplinary action and conducting hearings Investigate employee related concerns, complaints, disputes and whistleblowing Take accountability for managing individual caseloads Work with our HR Line Manager Advisory and Business Partner colleagues to help resolve issues and identify any changes that need to be made for the future to prevent reoccurrence Partner with Employment Legal to help resolve work place issues and employees concerns as well as supporting the development and governance of policies and procedures Work closely with other control functions within UBS (such as Compliance, Group Investigations and Group Internal Audit) to investigate and address employees concerns and potential breaches of UBS policy Produce and deliver relevant training Look for ways to continually improve our processes Support colleagues in our EMEA offices to ensure that employees are treated fairly and consistently in line with UBS policies and procedure and HR best practice Employee Relations Advisor City: London Job Type: Full Time Country / State: United Kingdom Function Category: Human Resources (HR) Join us: We're a truly global, collaborative and friendly group of people. Your team: We are a team based in London, providing technical expertise in relation to Employee Relations best practice and precedent, employment law, policy development and HR projects across EMEA. Our mission is to ensure the fair, equitable, objective and consistent treatment of staff Your expertise: You have: A good working knowledge of UK employment law. Working knowledge of employment law in other EMEA locations a plus Worked in a legal or HR environment handling employee relations matters Proven effectiveness playing a pivotal role in projects on a global level, including cross-regional policies Know-how to provide advice to HR colleagues on how to handle and effectively resolve workplace issues and disputes Experience of working in the Financial Services industry Experience in conducting and managing investigations A sound knowledge of HR processes and best practice Strong influencing and advisory skills adaptable to all levels in an organization Robust stakeholder engagement and management skills The ability to work on your own initiative and juggle competing priorities Attention to detail You are: Sensitive to risks and ability to mitigate these in a pragmatic way An excellent communicator and problem- solver Able to assimilate large amounts of information and deal with the \"grey\" Discrete in handling sensitive issues (you can keep a secret) Inquisitive and intellectually curious Able to think laterally Able to remain calm under pressure and maintain a sense of humour (this is important!)
