Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic and target-oriented professional for the position of Partnership Journal Coordinator to oversee a number of society and partner journals hosted by Frontiers as part of our Publishing Partnerships program. The Partnership Journal Coordinator will support the transfer of journals transitioning from other publishers to Frontiers (including flipping from Subscription to Open Access business models) and the management of these post-transfer. In addition, the Partnership Journal Coordinator will also oversee the launch and management of several new society titles. This permanent, full-time position in our London or Lausanne office will involve an immersion in the rapidly-changing environment of the scholarly society, open access publishing industry. The position will initially report to the Publishing Partnerships Manager and work closely with other teams across Frontiers. Responsibilities * Manages the activities of new journals transitioning from Subscription to Open Access and the launch of new partner journals. * Oversees several journals and contributes to the development and implementation of journal initiatives and content acquisition, as well as supporting and building relationships with the editorial boards. * Is responsible for completing quality checks on manuscripts, monitoring and management of the peer-review process, as well as the organisation of special issues. * Builds strong relationships with high-profile scholars and promotes the journals in line with the societies communication strategies. * Drives content acquisition strategies to ensure the growth and success of the journals. * Forecasts journal growth and reports to external partners and internal teams on journal performance. * Will problem-solve and feedback on any issues with the workflow or platform. * Provides marketing support and management of journal social media accounts. Requirements * Ideally with previous experience in the publishing industry. Experience working with societies is not essential, but is a strong plus; * Project and team collaborative experience is a strong plus * Initiative taking; with great interpersonal skills * Preferably a BA/BSc degree with a keen interest in dissemination of research; * Ability to work independently, be highly organized and meet deadlines; * Sound and mature judgment; decisive and tactful when working with multiple stakeholders; * Flawless communication in written and spoken English; * Technical proficiency, with hands-on skills using current software, especially MS Excel, Salesforce a plus; * A good knowledge of common social media platforms * Ability to quickly and accurately analyze large volumes of information and arrive at solution-oriented, forward thinking decisions. * With high integrity and able to manage confidential information from the external Societies.
