Job Description

Thinking Allowed is working to improve the psychological care offered to those children in the care of Bristol City Council. These children have experienced abuse, neglect and trauma and present with the complex behavioural, emotional, health and developmental needs associated with such histories. The work is complex, emotionally challenging and interesting. We are looking for a clinician, skilled and experienced with children who are in care, to take on the role of a Band 7 CAMHS Specialist Practitioner. We particularly welcome applications from BAME and LGBTQI+ communities and those with protected characteristics or lived experience of childhood adversity. We are happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments individuals may require in the recruitment process, on commencement, or once in post. The post holder will provide clinical, direct assessment and treatment to children and adolescents as well as providing consultancy and training to carers and the professional network. The successful applicant will show enthusiasm, humour and acceptance and will have excellent communication and therapeutic skills. You will facilitate and provide assessment services on the psychological / emotional health of children and young people, lead and participate in multi-agency meetings and consultations with carers, social workers and other professionals. You will engage in direct therapeutic work with children and young people.
