Job Title Risk and Control Manager (AVP) Location Glasgow In Glasgow we have a number of opportunities for experienced Risk professionals to join us on a permanent basis due to ongoing growth. The Wholesale Onboarding and Financial Crime Operations Rigour Team are responsible for ensuring the appropriate Controls, Governance and Oversight are in place to support Operational functions. In joining this team, the role holder will be responsible for the management of Risk and Control across multiple sites globally covering multiple processes across the Wholesale Onboarding and Financial Crime Operations. What will you be doing? * Supporting the implementation and management of the internal control framework that promotes a strong self assessment culture, * Proving the effectiveness of the control environment through self testing, conformance review testing from second line of defence and audits from third line of defence, * Identifying new and emerging risks and design of a suitable yet commercial control environment to provide protection, * Identifying and resolving control issues and themes including managing the resolution of audit and other BU control issues, * Act as an escalation point and point of contact for the Business aligned control teams, * Responsible for the management of the annual risk assessment process for the operation, * Management of a team of analysts. What we're looking for: * The ability to develop a strong understanding of Financial Crime regulations and policies (AML, Sanctions, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption), * Strong knowledge of Operational Risk & Controls and/or audit in a highly regulated business environment, * Practical knowledge of internal controls, including the development and maintenance of appropriate framework, * A proven track record of managerial experience. Skills that will help you in the role: * Experience of working in a Financial Services/AML and Sanctions policies team, * Strong Stakeholder management experience and the ability to influence others positively, * Be a motivated, high-performing individual with proven experience of working at one with other colleagues, to achieve and often beat their objectives and assist others in doing so. Where will you be working? This role will be based in the Aurora Building, 1 of our 3 modern City Centre locations until our exciting new campus location overlooking the River Clyde is opened in 2020.
