Job Title Senior Operational Risk Manager (VP) Location Glasgow Our Operational Risk teams manage our Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF), which sets out how operational risks are identified, assessed and managed across the Group. The three lines of defence operating model establishes an appropriate segregation of risk management related roles and responsibilities within the firm. As a VP within the team you will partner with senior business leaders and teams in the first line to provide credible advice and effective challenge that supports businesses to achieve strategic objectives, through effective decision making and management of the upside, as well as downside of risks. What will you be doing? * Provide insightful analysis of risks to the First and Second Line based on your understanding of the Operational Risk Management Framework, * Engage with regulators on behalf of the business in meeting regulatory enquiries and other contacts including reporting, * Support the First and Second Line at Group ExCo to identify, assess and control existing and emerging risks prior to material P&L impact, * Review with the First and Second Line and other stakeholders the design and effectiveness of governance and controls to manage operational risks, * Enable the First and Second Line to manage Operational Risk effectively through education and provision of advice, tools and training, * Facilitate dialogue between different stakeholders to support decision-making. What we're looking for: * Practical understanding and experience of operational risk management and framework and with strong commercial awareness, * Track record of leading Operational Risk activity from a first or second line of defence role, * Recognised for driving effective management action to risk issues either from a first line or second line perspective, * Educated to degree level or equivalent or have an appropriate professional qualification e.g. MBA, Accounting, IIA and Risk Management. Skills that will help you in the role: * Excellent command of the English language with strong written and oral communication skills and an ability to communicate at all levels, * The ideal candidate will be recognised for driving effective management action to risk issues either from a first line or second line perspective. Where will you be working? This role will be based in the Aurora Building, 1 of our 3 modern City Centre locations until our exciting new campus location overlooking the River Clyde is opened in 2020.
