The opportunity: This position will be the primary point of contact for all Manufacturing and Customer support including Advanced Product Quality Planning activity. This is a challenging role and represents an exciting opportunity working as an integral part of a highly focused team. The role involves direct Customer interface and resolution of Customer concerns, working with support functions on Manufacturing processes, investigation of problems including Root Cause Corrective Action using structured problem-solving methodologies. This position reports to the Large Engines Value Stream Group Manager. Key responsibilities include: Lead Quality support for various engine products. Lead specific "Stop to Fix" problem solving team activity. Liaise with all functional areas on product and process Quality. Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning. Participate and lead Quality driven product and process improvement initiatives. Interface and Liaise with Customers and Suppliers - both internal and external to the Business to ensure timely resolution of Quality related issues. Work closely with Engineering teams to ensure that Process, Product and Engineering requirements are satisfied. Provide Quality Engineering support to help maintain systems accreditation. Candidates will have gained the following skills and experience through previous roles: A formal Engineering Qualification (Apprenticeship, HNC, HND etc) with underpinning knowledge in a mechanical engineering discipline. Quality skills qualification (6 Sigma, 8D etc). A recognised industry (ISO9001 or TS16949) audit qualification an advantage. Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning techniques and processes. Knowledge of Quality Systems (ISO9001:2015). Knowledge of Allied Quality Assurance Publications an advantage. Ability to plan, organise and prioritise a varied range of work. Motivation to drive required tasks based on own initiative. Operate on a flexible basis across various project roles. Ability to work in a team environment and independently. General knowledge of Mechanical Engineering, Machining & Assembly. Knowledge of Diesel Engines and fuel systems. Good working knowledge of MS Office, MS Teams. A demonstrated passion for Quality. Excellent communication skills at all levels. Ability to compile and write technical reports. NB.
