Job Description
We are looking to recruit a dynamic, creative, forward-thinking and hard-working Occupational Therapist to work in Newhaven Ward, situated at Newhaven Community Hospital. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a Multi-disciplinary team using a rehabilitation approach to improve function, promote independence and reduce the risk of deconditioning as a result of a hospital stay. The team at Newhaven Ward consists of Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists as well as Rehab Assistants. We also work closely with discharge coordinators and Adult Social Care. Therapists work within an integrated model, carrying out comprehensive, generic assessments with the aim to deliver highest standards of patient care, as well as promoting service and professional development to further enhance both clinical and non-clinical skills. Newhaven Ward is an inpatient facility in the community to manage patients who have been transferred from the Royal Sussex County Hospital. Our team of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants see patients with a wide range of problems including vascular, frail medical, surgical, orthopaedic and complex co-morbidities. You should be highly-motivated and be able to work autonomously as well as part of a team. You must be an HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
