Job Description

We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 6 nurse who will strive for high standards of patient care to join our team of highly professional cancer nurses. The role is based at the Sussex Cancer Centre, Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton and will occasionally involve working at our sister unit at Hurstwood Park Haematology/Oncology day unit, Princess Royal Hospital. You will work in the Cancer Treatment Unit, giving SACT, mentoring junior staff and running Nurse led clinics. The post requires that you have skills including venepuncture, cannulation, central line care and a good understanding of the management of patients in an outpatient setting. You will have a sound knowledge of oncology and/or haematology as well as the knowledge and skills required to safely manage patients receiving systemic anti-cancer therapies. In return you will be supported to further enhance both your clinical and leadership skills and given opportunities for professional development within a progressive team, where your nursing skills will be highly valued by patients, their families and the multi-disciplinary team.
