Job Description

Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals (BSUH) is an acute teaching hospital across three sites: The Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton, Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath and Newhaven Ward in Newhaven. The Brighton site is currently undergoing major redevelopment which will improve patient care as well as enhance our specialised and tertiary services. The Royal Sussex County Hospital is in the heart of Brighton which is a large vibrant city situated on the south coast and in the heart of the South downs national park. There is easy access to water sports, outdoor pursuits and areas of outstanding natural beauty. Brighton has a large shopping centre with all major shops but also boasts an eclectic centre of quirky independent shops in the Lanes. There are theatres, gastropubs, nightclubs and a diverse culture. It is a 45 minute train ride away from London and all of the attractions to be found there. An exciting opportunity for a full time Band 6 Occupational Therapist with a special interest in Dementia to join our dynamic Occupational Therapy and Dementia Care Team. There will be service development and teaching and opportunities across sites at the Royal Sussex County Hospital and the Princess Royal Hospital in Haywards Heath. If you are dynamic, enthusiastic and committed to continuously improving services for people with dementia we would like to hear from you. Candidates should have experience of person-centred working with people with dementia, be keen to use a holistic approach and share their knowledge and skills through modelling, teaching and care planning. Ideally candidates will have experience of working in an acute physical setting with a good understanding of dementia / mental health needs. In return you can expect a comprehensive orientation and development programme to meet and exceed HCPC requirements. In addition you will be provided with regular supervision and encouraged to participate in on going CPD.
