Job Description
Are you a qualified Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner who wants to be valued and welcomed into a supportive, dynamic and expanding team? Are you passionate about delivering low intensity interventions in line with the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies initiative? The York and Selby IAPT service consists of Counsellors, High Intensity Therapists, PWPs & our Employment Team and the opportunity has arisen for enthusiastic and committed Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners (PWPs) to join our expanding service. We are a well-established integrated Step 2, Step 3 and Counselling for Depression service covering York, Selby, Easingwold, Pocklington and Tadcaster geographical areas. Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners play a critical role in helping shape the future direction of the service by delivering high quality evidence based interventions. The role is a deliberately varied one which has a balance between undertaking initial assessments and holding a clinical caseload. All PWP's are involved in delivering Guided Self Help, Psycho-education Courses and Computerised programmes. You will receive regular caseload supervision and clinical supervision groups. We pride ourselves on being an innovative IAPT service, and as part of this have developed opportunities for PWPs to take on the role of champions for a variety of populations such as perinatal, older adults, veterans and long-term conditions. These roles enable PWPs to develop their skills and experience in their areas of interest, and assist in designing pathways of care for these populations. We are committed to facilitating continuing professional development and this is actively encouraged within our service. In return, you will be expected to be flexible and provide out of hours clinics as required by service need and demonstrate a willingness to travel. York and Selby IAPT service currently operates Monday- Friday covering some evening working through 1:1 clinics or groups which all staff are expected to facilitate. You must hold the post graduate certificate in Low Intensity Psychological Intervention training in order to apply. Anyone without this qualification will not be considered for interview.
