Job Description

The role Are you a 'Maestro' in the spirits logistic field and can deliver an efficient and profitable supply chain for international and domestic spirits movement, while maintaining an industry respected service? About the job * Lead, build and manage a team of shipping and stock controllers to maximize the efficiency and profitability of the global Atom Brands Maverick supply chain. * Manage domestic and foreign hauliers, customs clearance agents, consolidators and other logistics providers. * Build and maintain strong relationships with logistics and storage providers, and negotiate supplier contracts and credit terms. * Work closely with the other operational teams across the business to ensure that our delivery performance is always improving. * Track stock movements across the business - ensuring up to date records of all inventory and raw materials. * Devise ways to optimise inventory control, avoiding any insufficiencies or excessive surplus stock. * Work closely with the sales teams to forecast stock requirements, clear dated stock and provide analysis for current and new product lines. * Work with the Excise Compliance Manager to put systems and training in place to ensure we comply with all applicable regulations (customs, duty, import and export restrictions) both within and without the UK. * Troubleshoot logistics issues as they arise. * Drive a culture of high health and safety standards within the logistics team and the wider business, and ensure they are adhered to at all times. * Work with the fulfilment team to constantly improve our transport packaging and minimise loss and damage. * Create and maintain a highly organised system of documentation and training. * Ensure that logistics KPIs are made available to management and the wider business where appropriate. ** Highly Competitive Salary Offered** Experience, skills and qualifications * Significant experience in the management of alcohol logistics and ideally experience working with/for an alcohol production business * Excellent understanding of the compliance rules and regulations that apply to the movement of spirits internationally. * Experience of working within a bonded environment and of dealing with HMRC * Knowledge of national and international import/export legislation, with proficiency in all related paperwork * Comprehensive knowledge of EMCS, CHIEF and associated documents * Full understanding of the process of obtaining an MGN for underbond shipments * Knowledge of shipping dangerous goods (bulk spirits) * Proven experience in stock management or similar position. * Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods * Excellent awareness of health and safety around the receipt and distribution of alcohol * Strong people management experience, and experience of building, training and developing a team * An analytical mind, highly numerate and proficient in relevant software tools. * Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written * Strong negotiation skills * Good time management and organisation skills About you We're looking for an innovative individual with a passion for Logistics and a track record of developing and progressing high performing teams.
