Pharmaceutical Technology and Development (PT&D) are the bridge that turns forward-thinking science into actual medicines that help millions of people. We work across the entire value chain, designing and delivering active ingredients, formulations and devices required to support new medicines. This includes from supplies for use in early toxicology studies and clinical trials to developing the technology to ensure drugs can be scaled up for commercial manufacture. Drug Substance Manufacture (DSM) is responsible for the internal manufacture of Drug Substance for formulation development, pre-clinical and clinical development studies. Our 5 Pilot Plant facilities are used to generate key scale-up learning and technology understanding for API (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient) development. DSM also supports the rapid development of commercial processes by flexible accommodation processes and experimentation at scale. DSM is part of the Clinical Manufacturing and Supply function, within Pharmaceutical & Technical Development, Operations. With your engineering expertise, you will drive the delivery of asset performance of our Pilot Plant facilities here at the Macclesfield Campus. Leading a team, you will support, coach and develop junior engineers, technicians and engineering co-ordinators to achieve best-in-class asset performance through equipment expertise. You'll coordinate the performance of the asset care processes in terms of asset availability, performance & output quality. You will also hold accountability for the asset care strategy associated resources. Responsibilities: As an Engineering Manager, you'll ensure compliance of yourself and your team to internal and external regulations. This will involve monitoring and maintaining compliance in accordance with cGMP, SHE, Fiscal and Business procedures. You'll be responsible for ensuring asset contribution to availability, performance and quality will be delivered successfully through best-in-class asset care processes and appropriate asset care strategy. Providing expert mentorship to your given business area regarding assets, asset care, asset performance and variability, you'll understand the asset, it's performance, and how this performance is maintained. We'll expect you to deliver asset care capability and data driven improvements in order to deliver the business strategy. You'll build the right capabilities across all roles in your team. As a dynamic leader you will optimise performance outcomes of your team and ensure individuals understand and are passionate about their contributions. Experience required: + Significant and meaningful experience of assets and asset care practices within a highly regulated environment + With previous experience you will value the opportunity to lead, motivate and develop your team + Ideally you will be Chartered or working towards Chartership with an appropriate engineering institution + You'll hold a relevant engineering degree (preferred) or recognised engineering training route (e.g. apprenticeship with HNC/HND or equivalent) + We're looking for a confident and engaging communicator who can influence a variety of partners to drive success
