As an Engineering Technician you will deliver and sustain business objectives through providing engineering (Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation) expertise to maintain equipment / systems, resolving problems and implementing improvements. Whilst always following GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), SHE (Safety, Health and Environment), and Financial requirements. Responsibilities: You hold responsibility for maintaining and calibrating manufacturing equipment, and support systems in accordance with maintenance strategies and schedules of work. The manufacturing process takes place in a controlled GMP environment which adds a unique rigour and methodical approach to the maintenance programme of work. Core plant systems include; primary packing processes, secondary packing equipment, and tertiary packing processes - each with a unique and structured scheduled maintenance support system. By providing good customer service and maximising equipment availability you'll ensure timely response to breakdowns and provision of effective customer feedback along with delivery of closure actions through systematic fault-finding and problem solving. You will strive to improve availability through identification of maintenance improvement, and drive the asset up-time by detailed investigation and understanding of all instances of downtime using validated problem-solving processes. We'll entrust you to set up systems / equipment in a timely manner and right first time in order that functional performance complies with Operational Qualification parameters and statutory requirements. You will lead formal and informal training of less experienced Technicians and coach Operators to improve asset performance. Using lean and manufacturing tools (such as RCM, RCA and CBM) you will actively participate in and deliver continuous improvement activities and projects. Working with your engineering colleagues we'll ask you to support change initiatives required to drive ongoing business improvements. By ensuring positive and constructive communication you'll enable and establish effective team working. You will work with project teams to bring new equipment from inception through to beneficial operation. This will include delivery of equipment qualification activities. You will be able to fault find using structured problem-solving tools and document this to support the quality, or SHE investigation processes. Working within a highly compliant and regulated industry you will ensure that GMP, and SHE regulations are adhered to always. Preferred Requirements: + Operating knowledge of procedures and compliance with GMP & SHE requirements. + Familiar with CMMS (SAP PM) Knowledge of IT systems where appropriate e.g. Drawing/Document Management Systems, Microsoft office, Industrial PC's, PLC's (Siemens preferable). + Knowledge of the Principles of Work Planning & Control - able to plan and manage own workload + Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing tools and processes - Six Sigma, 5S, SMED, coaching and mentoring + Cost Management i.e. Labour Hours & Services / Materials + Application of maintenance processes e.g. RCM, CBM, TPM etc + National Technician Level Numeric and Literacy Skills & Communication + Multi-Disciplined (mechanical / electrical / controls / automation) + ONC/HNC or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline, however a level of electrical aptitude aligned to basic disciplines and principles is a core part of this role + Knowledge of Project management and facilitation skills + Knowledge of Quality Notification procedures and Change control procedures Shift work will be involved which will be discussed in more detail at interview.
