Head of Project Services - Global Engineering Location Macclesfield UK or Sodertalje Sweden Reports to the Vice President of Global Engineering & Real Estate with responsibility for a global function. Responsible for delivering capabilities and solutions for capital project cost estimating, planning & scheduling, project controls, cashflow management, contract management, benchmarking, information management, and compliance. The role is also responsible for departmental headcount and budget management. Development and leadership of a high performing global team is critical. This role is a manager of staff and contract resources but also requires deep domain expertise. As a member of the Global Engineering Leadership Team the role also influences heavily the strategic direction of Global Engineering and Real Estate, has multiple senior level partner relationships and interactions while also engaging at the project level through regular project site visits. The role: Head of Project Services Reports to the Vice President of Global Engineering & Real Estate with responsibility for a global function. Responsible for delivering capabilities and solutions for capital project cost estimating, planning & scheduling, project controls, cashflow management, contract management, benchmarking, information management, and compliance. The role is also responsible for departmental headcount and budget management. Development and leadership of a high performing global team is critical. This role is a manager of staff and contract resources but also requires deep subject matter expertise. Will also be encouraged to mentor employees across the business and in Global Engineering and Real Estate. The key responsibilities and activities of the role include: + Lead and develop team to deliver credible work processes and results related to Estimating, Planning and Scheduling, and Project Control for large capital projects. Build capability and staff on a global level to support current work, future growth, and long-term needs of the enterprise. + Serve as member of the Global Engineering & Real Estate (GERE) Leadership team. Provide support and ownership of the GERE function, leading initiatives and delivering results that are multi-functional and impact the broader business. + Develop, maintain and evolve the strategy for delivery of all services and capabilities. Actively develop and maintain relationships with key partners. + Responsible for establishment, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the business processes related to all areas of remit including guidelines, procedures, tools, and training documents. Ensure coordination and alignment with the AstraZeneca project delivery process. + Responsible for development of cost estimates & schedules for all stages of project delivery. + Support development and lead implementation of an integrated project control approach for projects, using Architect/Engineer and Construction Management efforts considering contracting strategy and team structure. + Responsible for effective project control execution for all projects including: + Integrated cost management + Execution of project commercial and financial control functions + Implementation of risk management processes for cost & schedule + Development and management of integrated project schedules + Implementation of the earned value / physical progress measurement systems + Developing accurate high-level and detailed project cash-flow forecasts + Implementation of change management and cost trending + Deliver benchmarking process including proactive collection of data to support cost estimate and schedule preparation. Ensure process for retention of project cost and schedule data and active analysis of data to identify trends and improvement opportunities. Create and be a great partner with external parties to support this effort. + Lead and execute the process for departmental headcount and budget management. Ensure systems are in place for cost recovery and that internal budgets are achieved.
