Overview

The Girdlers’ Livery Company is seeking to appoint an Executive Assistant - a bright, polished and dynamic individual who has the efficiency to delve into and finesse our administration, alongside a professional, confident demeanour to present to our membership and to affiliated organisations. Reporting directly to the Clerk (CEO), you will be the first point of contact for our Livery and Court membership, and will manage the admissions process for new liverymen, as well as ensuring the smooth running of exceptional membership events at the beautiful and historic Girdlers’ Hall. You will provide seamless administrative support to the Clerk, Master, Court, and Company Committees, producing well-written, comprehensive meeting documentation and company literature, and providing proactive and robust diary management for the Master and Clerk. Generally you will ensure that our office is running smoothly, taking ownership of our IT and our HR processes, keeping our electronic filing robust and efficient, and also maintaining and updating our Company website. To succeed in this role, it is essential that you have significant experience gained in an EA/PA role at executive level, and that you possess meticulous organisation skills and the ability to prioritise a diverse workload. Articulate, IT literate and polished, you are flexible, discrete, and you bring enthusiasm and proactivity to your work at all times. While respecting tradition and history, you can identify and implement improvements to keep the Company operating at an optimal level of efficiency. We are a membership-based organisation, and a major grant maker through our extensive charitable activities (this includes a number of almshouses owned by the Company), and we have wide-ranging business interests to fund our philanthropic goals. In addition to a highly competitive salary, the Company provides an exceptional benefits package that includes an excellent pension scheme (employer contributions at 15%), private medical insurance, an interest-free season ticket loan and generous annual leave entitlement. This is a diverse, fascinating position, that comes about only rarely, and a superb opportunity to occupy a pivotal appointment within a thriving yet historic institution. To apply please forward your CV with a covering letter clearly detailing your relevant experience and your salary expectations. The closing date for applications is 3rd April.
