Overview
Logistics Coordinator – Blackburn Lancashire Teknion , a major International office furniture manufacturer is recruiting a Logistics Coordinator as part of their small team at the company’s warehouse near Blackburn. The role centres upon planning and arranging inbound sea-freight and outbound deliveries and supporting the Operations Manager, Warehouse Supervisor and the London and Canadian teams. Specific Duties Include: Develop relationships with freight forwarders and hauliers, negotiating prices and terms Communicate with and organise freight forwarders to manage inbound sea-freight and outbound worldwide sea-freight Book transport and sea-freight with 3rd party haulier companies and forwarders Liaise with the Warehouse Supervisor and 3rd party warehouses regarding deliveries and dispatches Work closely with the London and Canadian teams assisting with raising sundry purchase orders and communicating with suppliers Organise courier deliveries and maintain delivery and installation schedules Liaise with logistics departments at other Teknion companies in Canada and Malaysia Maintain despatching on the IT system and print delivery notes Responsible for inventory system accuracy and quantity and stock location reconciliation. Play an important role in the implementation of new warehouse management and barcoding systems. Qualifications & Skills Required: Confident with IT systems and proficient in Microsoft Word & Excel. Accurate and with attention to detail and good written and verbal communication skills. Organised, enthusiastic, able to manage time well and work independently. Versatile and adaptable with the ability to set priorities and achieve objectives. Well educated and must have experience of a similar logistics role. Salary to £24,000 plus (depending on experience).
