Exciting opportunity for a Prince2 qualified Project/ Programme manager who must be available for an immediate start JOB ROLE: PMO Advisor JOB TYPE: Temporary COMPANY: Charity sector HOURS: 9.00am- 5.30pm SALARY: £43,000 LOCATION: West End, London You will provide specialist advice to a central team leading on the implementation of a three-year planning process. Part of these changes is the introduction of stronger, organisational gateways for the review of ideas and translation into project delivery. The changes are being implemented to coincide with a new Corporate Strategy from 2021. The changes are intended to provide clearer prioritisation and direction to the organisation's work programme, maximise efficiency and effectiveness and help manage workload pressures across the organisation. DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT EXCLUSIVE TO: As part of the team, provide specialist advise and expertise to: Develop the gateway processes to be used to progress ideas through to well-formed and successful projects at all stages in their lifecycle, including evaluation Develop and implement the supporting infrastructure, including project planning templates, to enable the gateway process and project delivery. Support a continually improving community of practice by providing advice and coaching on tools, systems, processes and approaches. To provide advice on portfolio, programme and project management best practice, and portfolio, including to senior management To apply the relevant management systems, procedures and policies relating to risk management, health and safety, information security, business continuity, and equality and diversity policy and practice Any other reasonable duties as may be assigned from time to time. SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED: Experienced Project, Programme or Portfolio manager with an ability to implement, manage, and continually improve organisation-wide approaches to project planning and gateway reviews Professional qualification in project, programme and/or portfolio qualifications such as P3O, MSP, and/or PRINCE2 essential Experience in project estimating techniques an advantage Experience in successfully supporting change within an organisation an advantage A high standard of written and verbal communication skills is essential You must be able to build positive working relationships with senior figures Effective negotiation and influencing skills. You will work with stakeholders with varying requirements, often in specialist areas of delivery, requiring them to modify local practices and positively engage in planning The ability to identify and implement effective ways of engaging with staff working in varied roles, applying facilitation and coaching styles as necessary to introduce new ways of working Effective use of IT systems; MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project and Outlook are widely use Power BI familiarity would be an advantage You must be able to effectively manage personal time and use the time of others appropriately You will be a self-starter with evidence of the ability to be proactive in gathering information and in liaising with internal and external colleagues The ability to identify and develop solutions to improve effectiveness Ability to focus on outcomes and balance process and system with pragmatism to maximise impact while balancing efficiency and effectiveness considerations A good understanding of business processes and policies relating to the risk management, health and safety, business continuity and information security requirements of the role A good understanding of equality and diversity issues and best practice relating to the role's responsibilities.
