MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN OPPORTUNITY LOCATED IN NORFOLK ROLE- MECHANICAL TECHNICIAN LOCATION- NORFOLK DURATION- 6-12 MONTHS RATE- AJILON CONSULTANT My client is an international electricity and gas company and one of the largest investor owned Energy companies in the world. They play a vital role in delivering gas and electricity to many millions of people across Great Britain and North-Eastern US in an efficient, reliable and safe manner. Job role To ensure completion of plant maintenance to agreed schedule. Provision of corrective maintenance in break down situations. Aid colleagues in the wider geographical area to undertake similar on pipelines and associated equipment. Duties Maintain all site Mechanical systems - including, but not limited to, valves, actuators, pumps, compressors and turbines. Ensure that all appropriate maintenance records are kept and updated for the work completed. Safely operate all process equipment and ensure availability of all safety critical systems. Ensure that all operational and maintenance activities comply with current Health/Safety/Environmental legislation, policies and procedures. Aid Assistant Engineer in preparation of plans and procedures for routine and non-routine operations. Liaise with Gas National Control Centre in both planned and emergency situations. In carrying out these duties, the job holder shall comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act Describe key competencies required. Core knowledge of Mechanical equipment and principles, in Gas, Power turbines and large industrial gas Compressors Industrial Mechanical Maintenance experience, preferably within the upstream Oil & Gas sector. Proven experience undertaking corrective maintenance under break down situations. Knowledge of aero derivative transmission driven compressors is preferred. Proven experience working to tight deadlines.
