Overview

Business Analyst - York Within Hiscox our business analysts work on the analysis and definition of change to our business systems which can be minor systems changes right up to radical enhancements to the groups technical delivery. This role sits within our change team and initially will be based within Group and Enterprise Applications IT and deliver a large change portfolio stretching across 2020 and beyond. Projects will include major new portfolios such as data retention, records management and storage as well as BAU change to existing business systems. You will be required to document, define and analyse functional and non-functional requirements for change to business systems and coordinate and communicate this change to internal and external delivery teams, external vendors, infrastructure team and 3rd party application teams to support the analysis of application changes. This will be a hands on role that will see you working and functioning as a pivotal part of the change team, ensuring that we keep technology at the heart of our business. Whilst within this role you will be required to: Build strong productive relationships with the business, IT teams and external third parties in order to deliver effective solutions Conduct requirements gathering sessions with various levels of the business and IT, ensuring that strategic needs are being met and incremental benefits realised Produce high quality business cases, user stories, use cases, acceptance criteria, functional and non-functional specifications Take full ownership of the product backlog of key systems Be the focal point for questions related to systems usage Support the system test teams, helping with understanding of the change and reviewing test cases to ensure full coverage of continuous delivery Understanding how data flows through the relevant interfaces and an analysis of the existing and future data retention requirements that need to be adhered to Previously you will have had experience capturing, documenting and delivering detailed documentation and requirements upon technical and highly integrated business systems. You will have a good understanding of data transfer and delivery from a modelling, MI, BI and DW basis plus comprehension of data retention and other regulatory needs such as GDPR. You'll know how to coordinate test teams in both agile and formal manners and be and 'end-to-end' BA with prior exposure of conception and delivery of projects. It will be expected that you have both soft and hard influencing skills, intellect and gravitas and the ability to communicate across all levels of business from executive to operational levels. This will be a self-starters role, in a fast paced, challenging and dynamic business.
