Overview
Do you have solid experience having worked in a busy IT department? Do you have experience with virtulization and containerization? If so, we have the perfect opportunity We are working in partnership with our Woodstock based client and looking to recruit a Systems Engineer to join the team. Key responsibilities - Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure across the company network Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools Maintenance of the Network Hardware environment including firewalls, routers, network switches and access points Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability Maintain security, backup and redundancy strategies Provide remote support to associates in overseas offices Production of Project Plans relating to IT projects Escalation point for the 2nd line support engineer, providing support, guidance and mentoring as required Provide 3rd line support Knowledge and expertise required - Recent experince of working in a busy IT department ideally within a regulated environment Experience with virtulization and containerization ( E.G VMware, Citrix, MS RDS ) Proven background installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows based environments Good knowledge of Microsoft products including Desktop ( 10 ), Server Operating Systems and Systems Centres Good knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server from a setup, Support and DBA viewpoint Good understanding of Active Directory A good working knowledge of networking, routing and enterprise firewalls This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to join a highly successful and forward thinking team. The role is a full time, permanent position working office hours Monday to Friday. The salary will be based on previous experience.
