About the Finance Service at Warwickshire County Council: Warwickshire County Council has recently completed an exciting two-year transformation programme, including a complete redesign of the Finance Service. About Us Ours is a small, friendly team where everyone is involved in the daily support of our financial systems, with each person developing a more specialist knowledge in chosen areas. All systems training will be provided and the Council can also support staff with studying for financial qualifications. The Role The Senior Finance Officer supports the smooth running of the Council's financial systems on a day-to-day basis, as well as working on new initiatives and projects to further develop our services to the rest of the organisation and associated processes. The Council uses Unit 4 Agresso as its main financial system. Additionally, the role will include exposure to Altair (the main line of business system for the Warwickshire Pension Fund) and Abacus (the Authority's system which manages and administers social care finance). For further details please see the Job Description and Person Specification Key tasks include Maintenance of these systems' security, including user access and roles Resolving system support queries and providing advice and guidance to users generally Creation of codes, including Cost Centres, Account codes, Projects and Products Budget and forecast maintenance Processing interfaces from feeder systems into financial systems Assistance with the maintenance and development of financial reports Involvement in developing increased functionality of all systems to increase automation, produce efficiencies, and improve the customer experience Involvement in transformation and ad-hoc projects - providing an opportunity to develop both accounting and financial system knowledge.
