Overview
Global Quality Management Company is currently seeking an experienced Team Leader to assist the Shift Supervisor in managing a team of semi-skilled operatives onsite at a prestige automotive site in Chichester. Candidates should have previous manufacturing/warehouse experience together with supervisory/team leadership experience of teams of 4 with experience following strict processes/work instructions and ideally, a basic understanding of quality. The Role Permanent 40-45hrs/week This position is working on rotating shifts (weekly) AM shifts 6:00am - 14:30pm & PM shift 15:00pm - 23:30pm Up to £13/hr dependant on experience, premiums (see company benefits below) Reporting to the Supervisor/Plant Coordinator Attend meetings at beginning of shift to understand any ongoing issues Carry out daily checks/perform process audits to ensure jobs are covered appropriately and immediately address issues with appropriate corrective actions Interpret work instructions and train operatives on new jobs Ensure operatives are equipped with correct tooling/PPE Ensure operatives have a high standard of attire/appearance and ensure that housekeeping/5s is maintained throughout the team Assist in planning and organising resources to ensure targets are achieved Update quality results via on site paper documentation and in house computer system accurately and on time The Candidate The successful applicant MUST have the following experience: Previous man management experience in a manufacturing environment Manufacturing experience (in either auto/logistics/aero/FMCG, pharma) Experience following ‘work instructions’ Good communication and advanced use of English language (speaking/reading/writing) Basic computer skills (able to use in house computer systems and MS packages including word/outlook) Mobile – role may require walking up to 5 miles/day moving between locations on site Desirable but not essential experience: Quality Inspection experience Customer facing experience Good computer skills (excel, word, outlook, SAP) Previous experience writing ‘work instructions’ Engineering background/qualifications Ability to understand CAD diagrams Understanding of quality tools (namely 8D up to D3) Process audit experience Own car, happy to travel to other locations if necessary Company Benefits Up to £13/hr base rate 15% Nights (After 2200) 33% Saturday 50% Sunday Statutory pension contribution 22 days, statutory holiday (increases 1 day per year of service) Sick pay (5 days then statutory) Edenred Employee Benefits scheme Opportunity to develop within an award winning Global Quality Management Company Car parking pass (depending on location)
