Overview

We are seeking an experienced Technician to join our Repairs team in Minchinhampton. You will have experience of fault find down to component level and repair new and older versions of Topcon products. Main duties and responsibilities include: Bench based electronic repairs on a range of 'TopconRDS’ products; diagnosing and confirming product faults to component level where necessary, and as appropriate, fixing faults by replacing or upgrading parts in line with on-going product development changes. Record repairs and solutions in company CRM systems. Work with Repairs and Support team, providing technical fault-finding information as appropriate. Fault find and repair of all manufactured products that do not conform to their relevant test procedures, suggesting improvements or enhancements as applicable to the Engineering and Production Departments and the Quality Manager. Maintain company manufactured 'Testboxes’ as requested to meet production or sub-vendor requirements. Suggest updates to any existing test boxes to simplify and / or speed up the testing process. Participate in continuous improvement activities. The successful candidate will require the following experience, knowledge and skills. Previous experience of working within a similar Technician or Repairs role is essential and from within a similar electronic / electro-mechanical manufacturing environment would be an advantage. Experience of diagnosing and fault finding down to component level. BTEC in electronic engineering or equivalent qualification or comparable work experience. Experience in the handling of electronic assemblies (ESD, EOS, safe handling). Competence in the navigation of circuit diagrams and assembly drawings. A methodical and logical approach to work. Strong problem-solving skills. Good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritise and work on own initiative. This is a permanent, full time (37.5 hours a week) role. The role is based at our site in Minchinhampton near Stroud, Gloucestershire.
