Overview
Be in the business of better futures It’s a great feeling to guide people on the journey into lasting work. As an Employment Adviser with Ingeus, you can progress your own career by supporting others to find good jobs. We’re looking for both experienced advisers and those new to the role. Your transferable skills and life experience could make you perfect for the position. Why join us? Joining Ingeus is your opportunity to help build strong societies in which citizens have the independence, knowledge and know-how to thrive. Our impact is far-reaching – we support unemployed people into lasting jobs, provide learners with apprenticeships, help rehabilitate ex-offenders and deliver the National Citizen Service for young people. Helping give others a brighter tomorrow will be great for your future too. We’re focused on empowering our whole team to thrive in their careers. The role The world of work is changing so fast that people can easily be left behind. We’ll give you a caseload of people facing barriers to employment, for example skills, confidence, a disability or difficult personal circumstances. You’ll build relationships with each individual, enabling them to make well-informed choices and diagnose their areas of support. Then, you’ll work together to develop an action plan of support interventions to address their specific issues. By liaising with local services and partners, you will then coordinate a focused package of support. Once they are in work, you may even continue offering support to help them stay in the job. To make engagement easier, we can use digital, video and telephone contact, so participants have more flexibility on when and how they talk with you. Sometimes, you’ll also work in pop-ups within the local community to make access easier. We’ll ensure you have the tools and resources to get results. Your profile The key quality you need is the ability to build a rapport with people to motivate, challenge and inspire them. Emotional intelligence is very valuable for dealing with sometimes difficult conversations and situations. We also look for experience of working with people with multiple and complex needs, including health conditions and disabilities. This could have been in an employment-related role – or in another work or voluntary setting. It is important that you understand employment services and the needs and challenges of the job market. You also need strong communication and organisational skills, and good knowledge of MS Office applications.
