Overview

This client is a leading American law firm with 20 offices around the globe employing over 1200 lawyers. The London office is their European hub and is a vibrant and busy place to work. They are housed in stunning, spacious new offices. They are looking for a Revenue Controller . The person will be responsible for the overall billing cycle (including e-billing) across multiple practice groups, WIP management and Credit Control. Responsibilities Arranging monthly meetings with partners to review progress on WIP and AR; ascertaining when matters are due to be billed, the type of billing to be completed and any issues regarding expected recoverability or cash collection. Generating weekly updates of WIP and AR for the revenue team to review and discuss; providing updates to Head of Accounts and Revenue Controller as required. Maintaining adequate records of conversations with partners on WIP balances and accounts receivable, identifying actions arising from meetings and conversations. Working to maximise cash collections and minimise irrecoverable WIP or debt balances. Providing guidance and training to the Revenue Assistant and delegate where appropriate. Monitoring accounts receivable. Following up in line with agreed procedures, including phone and email correspondence with attorneys and attorney assistants, and clients when required. Reviewing the accounts receivable process to ensure debt collection information is passed on appropriately. Reviewing client account balances to ensure they are applied to settle bills. Responding promptly and efficiently to a high volume of emails related to billing inquiries and requests for information. Liaising with attorneys on all billing related issues. Preparing and processing invoices, including complex invoices, ensuring that all bills are checked for numerical accuracy and compliance with relevant VAT, SAR and AML guidelines. Preparing and processing e-bills; ensuring matter templates are set up correctly, entering timekeeper rates. Other e-billing administration as required. Responding to information requests, including various audit requirements. Processing write-offs of irrecoverable time and disbursements. Maintaining billing templates and billing instructions. Generating weekly time reports and distribute to Partners. Chasing bill payments and dealing with any issues arising from this; working with the billing attorney to resolve issues and collect as quickly as possible. Maintaining special billing rates for clients and matters, including exception rates. Keeping on top of changing billing requirements and special instructions from billing attorneys’; ensuring changes are implemented promptly and efficiently. Candidate Profile The successful candidate will have minimum 2 years’ working experience in a similar position within professional services. Experience using Elite is essential. Prepared to use initiative and be willing to learn. An organised team player with good attention to detail.
