Overview

Following an internal restructure I am working closely with my world class manufacturer to recruit a number of newly created positions including a Production Unit Leader (Manager) to work at their busy upper-tier COMAH Manufacturing Plant. We are able to offer motivated individuals a fantastic remuneration package of £80k DOE (including up to 22% pension & 18% bonus) and relocation assistance is available if required. The purpose of this business-critical role is to take responsibility for the day to day running of a Production Unit (comprising of multiple product and process areas), ensuring departmental objectives including production targets, costs, EHS, quality and safety standards are all adhered to. You will be managing the Chemicals Production Department consisting of direct reports (Shift Team Leaders), indirect reports (Production Operatives), dotted line to plant managers, support engineers and administrator, and a sizable departmental budget for CAPEX projects, plant shutdown and maintenance. Working closely with the Site Manager and with support from the top of the business, you will be instrumental in delivering continuous improvement initiatives and developing a LEAN culture. You will also need to work with the on-site Engineering and Project Teams to balance production requirements alongside significant plant modifications and upgrade work. Applications are invited from Production Managers / Operations Managers who have worked in process driven heavy industry and/or hazardous environments (i.e. chemical, agro-chemical, oil & gas, refinery, resins, pharmaceutical, or similar). This role could also suit an experienced Continuous Improvement practitioners as well as Production Team Leader or Supervisor looking to take the next step in their career. The emphasis for the successful candidate is on excellent Team Development and Management, scheduling, and working alongside plant upgrades engineering teams within a heavy manufacturing environment. Previous experience of working on medium/high hazard and/or COMAH sites is desirable but not essential. More information available upon application.
