R&D Project Manager Exciting opportunity for a commercially aware Project Manager from an electronics background to join a market leading organisation to be responsible for managing the execution of an R&D (Research & Development) project ensuring that the project is properly planned, resourced, managed according to a defined process, reviewed continuously and reported upon accurately. Â The main goal is to deliver the project deliverable on time, on cost and to the appropriate level of quality. Responsibilities of the Project Manager: Ensure that the project plan is baselined and fully resourced Ensure that projects are kicked off according to the R&D process and that responsibilities of project team members are defined and understood. Ensure that the R&D processes are being followed rigorously throughout the project Define project metrics and ensure accurate reporting to the Engineering Project Manager Organise the tasks and apply resources at the appropriate times. Resolve issues relating to on cost, on time, on quality delivery of the project. Customer liaising and negotiation when required Qualifications/Experience of the Project Manager: The candidate will need to have an engineering background, with at least an HNC / HND in engineering. An engineering degree would be even better but not essential. We need them to have experience in Consumer Electronics and have worked in an R&D environment. They do not need and Aerospace or Defence background. They need to be able to demonstrate experience of managing a project from concept to mass production and have experience of managing a team engineers (preferably mechanical) The ideal career path would be an engineer, promoted to team leader, promoted to Project Manager.
