Overview

Care First Recruitment Ltd are currently recruiting family support workers to work across West London Boroughs and the surrounding areas. This will be on an Ad-Hok basis so flexibility is key. Family support workers will be required to provide family support to families with complex needs which: improves parenting capacity and support towards behaviours which cause risk to children in line with Trouble Families Framework / Early Intervention. Family support workers will be required to support parents and their children in their homes and in groups, outside of core office hours, to increase the skills, confidence and abilities of all family members to live their daily lives in a positive, productive and safe way. Family support workers will work alongside children with various needs such as autism, aspergers, challenging behaviour and mild to moderate learning needs / disabilities. Duties: - To offer emotional and practical support to parents and their families, in their own homes or within a community setting - To offer a family centred approach to families with complex needs that require the support of a family support worker - Family support workers must have an understanding of safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults. - To build a trusting relationship with the parents and young people and extended family members to help alleviate or break their social isolation and increase social skills - Knowledge and understanding of local resources and community and statutory services, including Mental Health Teams, Social Services, Health, CAMHS, Benefits systems - To work alongside multi-agencies to ensure each service is contributing to the needs required - keep high quality records and assists with the preparation of reports if required via the local authority. - Family support workers will be required to attend conferences, review meetings, if requested - To ensure you have an understanding (appropriate to your role) promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults. - Knowlegde and understanding of the autistic spectrum, ASD, Challanging behaviour - To work flexibly and carry out any other reasonable duties as required. This role would suit candidates studying their social work degrees / newly qualified social workers. You are required to have experience working with children, young people and families. Qualification within the social sector preferred All applicants must have a right to work in the UK, satisfactory references for the immediate 5 years and an Enhanced DBS.
