Band 4 Mechanical Production instructor, HMP Erlestoke, Full time, ongoing temporary Your new company You will be working for HMP Erlestoke. A busy local prison, must have transport as public transport is limited. As the sole agency supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of security & support operatives, Hays is seeking to recruit Production instructor for HMP Erlestoke. HMP Erlestoke is based in Devizes and is a Category C Male prison. Your new role You will be an essential part of prison life, working across a range of workshops and library ensuring that inmates are completing tasks efficiently and helping where necessary. You will also have to carry out some basic admin duties. This role involves working with the Prisoners. This role is full time working 37.5 hrs per week, monday to friday. We are looking for a specialised instructor with a background and experience in Mechanics,you must be qualified to a vocational NVQ level 3 and above, you will be responsible for overseeing a group of 10-15 prisoners in repairing mechanical items such as lawn mowers, motors etc What you'll need to succeed You'll need to be security conscientious, have the ability to work in sensitive and high pressure environments and have previous experience in working in a security/prison background. You will have excellent personal skills and be able to provide guidance and help when called upon. You must be a qualified mechanic NVQ level 3 and above for this role as you will be running a workshop that repairs and services machinery such as lawnmowers etc. All candidates are subject to full prison clearance.
