The Role Do you want to use your nursing skills to help get new medicines to market? In your role as Clinical Research Nurse you will work on a wide range of leading clinical trials with a multifunctional team including medical, scientists, project management, data management and recruitment experts that will broaden your skills and help pharmaceutical companies progress new medicines to market. In our 85 bed clinical unit in Ruddington, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety of our volunteers and be involved in a variety of clinical procedures including drug administration, intensive collection and processing of blood samples, telemetry monitoring, cognitive function testing, ECGs, vital signs, spirometry, scintigraphy, venepuncture and cannulation. This is a fantastic route into the clinical research industry, or for those looking to develop their clinical research career. As part of our recruitment process you will be invited to come and spend a few hours on the ward, so you’ll get a good understanding of what it is like to work as a Clinical Research Nurse. This position involves shift and weekend work. The Candidate We do not require previous experience in a clinical research environment as full training will be given. We want to hear from candidates who have: Full RGN registration (or equivalent) or in the process of completing your NMC registration You do not need any post registration experience, although experience in an acute setting is advantageous A high attention to detail Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Good IT literacy Our ideal candidate enjoys being part of a vibrant team.
