EDS/Harness Design Engineer
Overview
This fantastic contract 3D CAD EDS Engineer role is a unique opportunity to showcase your expertise and skills with a renowned sports car OEM . Using your knowledge of 2D/3D CAD design and electrical architecture experience, you will be a key member within the engineering teams, and the EDS Engineer that fills this position is crucial to the future success of this historic automotive company. Role Overview: Support existing Electrical CAD design team with 3D CAD development for new sports car programmes Working closely with other function groups in the business to agree a strategy on harness design, routing considering harness manufacturability and assembly. Create concepts and work closely with vehicle packaging team to mature electrical design through various project milestones Responsible for the detailed design and packaging of Vehicle Electrical Harness and EEI components Deliver production ready design for harness according to vehicle project plan Deliver 2D harness drawings working closely with EDS team and Tier-1 supplier Deliver agreed production ready packaging of electrical components You will have these key skills/Qualifications and had experience in: A high level of experience is required to produce 3D CAD models (CATIA) including complex routing installations and solid & surface modelling. Working to high level CAD guidelines/standards to ensure robust package routings and models to ensure the components and vehicle harness can be manufactured and assembled. It also requires the ability to produce detailed 2D drawings through to final release of components. Provide the design expertise ensuring best practice solutions required to achieve all programme EDS design deliverables. To carry out concept design studies utilising CAE tools and physical bucks as necessary. Prepare accurate & timely Harness drawings for release into customers system and 1st tier plants. Carry out and participate digital builds, package reviews and on site evaluation of product at vehicle assembly plants However, if this role is not for you, but you know some who may be interested, please forward this email on to them.
