Overview
My client is a manufacturer of bespoke cutting-edge special purpose production machines and is seeking an Automation Engineer, the primary role would be to design and programme PLC, HMI and robotics for custom-made, systems. The successful candidate would be responsible for complete testing pre/on-site commissioning, followed by comprehensive customer support for the client. Good career prospects with the potential to progress into management positions or to specialise in a specific area. To be considered for this application the successful candidate must have proven experience (2/3 years) in PLC and HMI programming, together with proven experience in motion control systems and communications networking. Duties would include; Designing and programming PLC’s HMI’s and robotics. Commissioning, testing and optimisation of systems. Remote support to customers and field operatives located worldwide. Occasional overseas travel to support installations. Ideal skill set; PLC programming skills (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron, Red Lion) Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Experience of Rockwell RSLogix, Siemens Step 7 and TIA Portal. Experience with networking (Ethernet, DeviceNet, PROFIBUS, PROFINET). Excellent communication and customer service skills. The successful candidate will receive a competitive salary dependent upon skills, experience and qualifications. Typical working hours is 8:00 am to 4:00 pm based at their manufacturing site in Norfolk. The successful candidate will also hold a full UK driving licence and full UK resident passport with no restrictions. Benefits include a company pension, salary sacrifice and death in service cover.
