EMPLOYMENT ASSOCIATE – SENIOR EXECUTIVE FOCUS (3-4 PQE) AT UK FIRM
Overview
An established UK firm is looking for an Employment Associate to join its growing senior executive level service. The Team: The Employment department splits itself into three offerings: UK employment services; international employer services; and senior executive level services. The department has a good mix of partners, senior associates and associates so internal training and development are well supported. The Role: This senior executive role sits within the UK employment services branch and focuses on board and shareholder people issues. As a result, the team is often instructed by company owners, boards and general counsel, for example. The team acts for senior executives too. In this senior executive role, you will work on matters including: liability management (directors / shareholders / employees etc); terms negotiation (service agreements / bonus schemes / shareholder agreements etc); restraint of trade (restrictive covenants / injunctions / data protection etc); discipline and termination; disputes (whistle-blowing / bonus claims / discrimination etc); investigations; share incentives; restructuring; and reputation management. As this work tends to focus around complex, high profile and high value issues, the role will involve more problem-solving and contentious work. Requirements: To be successful in this senior executive role, you will have an excellent academic background (a minimum 2.1 degree) and have gained experience advising business clients, owner-managed businesses and senior executives individually. You will have a broad range of experience in contentious, corporate and advisory work. Any regulatory, High Court or Corporate / Private Equity experience would also be advantageous.
