Overview

Willis Global has been appointed by our client, a European owned leading Customs Service Provider, to support with their search for a Customs Director to be based at offices in the South-East of England. Our client, is seeking an inspiring leader with extensive experience and expertise within customs, whose role will be to empower the company to grow both the existing customs services and other new digital custom services in the UK. The position will lead to a CEO role by the end of 2020 and will report in to European HQ. On Offer; A CEO opportunity available with a leading organisation within it's field A leading role within a unique business that commercially has huge potential for more autonomous growth Excellent salary package which includes bonus, car, phone, healthcare, pension Task & Responsibilities The Customs Director will take charge of the commercial positioning of the company, as well as actively supporting the International Sales and Delivery team to expand international business in the UK. The Director is active in prospecting and sales processes. In the Operation, the Customs Director will lead the operations through three team leads and is required to coach, inspire and lead the teams in the aspired growth. The team consists of both IT specialist's, responsible for developing and maintaining the software the company works with, as well as people responsible for the custom administrative process. The position requires hands on leadership, fostering good relationships and challenging the team in effective cooperation with them. The Customs Director will be expected to bring new ideas to improve the daily business both in processes and how things are done. He or she has the affinity to/experience in leading staff such as HR, Marketing, Sales and Finance. Experience in the field of Customs is a must as compliance and managing internal and external processes and risks, will be within the responsibility. Full understanding of how to run operations on KPI’s, budgets and yearplans is also required. He/she is IT savvy and understands the IT specifics of the customs industry. Specifically, the Customs Director knows how to sell, implement and run the concept and operations of duty management services, taking into account the upcoming Brexit and the risks & opportunity it brings. Ideally the Customs Director has been responsible for Brexit preparations in previous years. Profile Required: Senior level from Logistics or Customs background.
