Overview

This is an overview of the role: The delivery of the agency’s mission and objectives requires accurate and timely budget monitoring and management, to enable the appropriate business decisions to be taken by the business leaders. This role should enhance the financial information available to budget holders and support the business in delivery. It should be critical to ensuring budgets are managed at a functional, activity and agency level. The role will also take the lead on special projects and initiatives, providing a high level of financial support, advice and challenge throughout the lifecycle of the project. The post holder will also be responsible for maintain long term resourcing model to operating costs. The successful person will be responsible for: • Lead on all elements of admin budget areas, developing tools and techniques to analyse and report on budgetary performance. • Develop methodologies to forecast and model expected admin spend which support the development of budget models. • Identify system and process improvements in order to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of internal reporting. • Preparation of detailed annual budgets and long term forecasts to support annual budget setting process and fiscal reporting events. • Responsible for production of financial performance management information on admin budgets to support corporate reporting. In order to complete the responsibilities for this role, the successful candidate will have: Qualifications: • Recognised professional accountancy qualification, such as ACA, ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA. Essential Skills/Experience: • Significant relevant experience in a financial support role. • Dealing with high volume, high value transactions. • Good technical accountancy knowledge. • Experience in budget preparation and monitoring. • Excellent financial modelling experience. • Experience of assessing and contributing to business cases. Desirable: • Knowledge of government accounting requirements. • Property/housing sector experience. • Collaborative Values - Presenting and passing on correct information promptly.
