The post holder is required to work collaboratively in a safe, care and respectful way. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the Occupational Therapy team in East Ayrshire. Whilst predominantly you will work with people in their own homes and communities, this post covers a range of clinical specialities across Acute and Community settings. You will provide support to the Occupational Therapist to implement treatment plans under their supervision, to support and instruct patients in activities relating to their treatment programme, and facilitate the achievement of identified goals. It is essential that you possess effective communication skills, which must include the ability to deliver presentations, maintain a record of interventions on the electronic patient record, and the ability to build positive interpersonal relationships. You will also be required to develop effective networks with colleagues across health, local authority and partner agencies. Clinical and line management supervision will be provided and we are keen to support applicants to learn and develop skills within the role. Experience of working in a similar setting is essential. An HNC in Occupational Therapy Support, or relevant SVQ would be advantageous. A car owner/driver is essential.
