Job Description

The opportunity has arisen for a part-time post working within the Occupational Therapy Service at the Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre. This predominantly inpatient based service provides high quality, patient-centred care to those living with and beyond a cancer diagnosis. You will take responsibility for a complex clinical caseload incorporating patient assessment, treatment and discharge from care. You will work within multi-professional teams to ensure co-ordinated care for patients and will also be required to provide leadership, clinical supervision and support to junior staff and students. You will provide an integrated, patient-centred service to patients in hospital and in clinics. This includes patients who present with highly complex physical, cognitive and psychosocial needs as a result of their disease, injury, illness and any other pre-existing conditions. You will assess and diagnose impairments which result in functional, physical, cognitive, perceptual, psychosocial and sensory deficits. This may involve using functional assessments together with formal standardised and non-standardised assessments. It is essential that you have a Diploma / Degree in Occupational Therapy and that you are currently a registered Occupational Therapist with the Health and Care Professions Council. You should have relevant post registration experience.
