Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapy Assistant Practitioner to join our health and social care integrated team within Nairn Town and County Hospital. Applications are invited to join the Occupational therapy team and be part of a wider community team including District nurses and Social Workers. The team provides inpatient rehabilitation, community rehabilitation, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation and outpatient musculoskeletal services in collaboration with Physiotherapy. You will have your own caseload of individuals identified by the Occupational Therapist. You will provide a comprehensive service that includes e.g. falls risk assessments of persons' activities of daily living and interventions to enable the person to stay as independent as possible. Supervision will be provided by qualified staff. You will work in people's homes and on occasion, in the ward. Applicants will have SVQ 3, HNC, Professional Development Award (PDA) or equivalent skills and ability to undertake qualification during the first two years of employment (distance learning). Previous experience at relevant Senior Health Care Support Worker level: Occupational Therapy, rehab nursing, relevant area of social care is required. The department offers ongoing in service training programme which you will be a part of in addition to full training to fulfil your role.
