Overview
Job Description
The Children and Young People'sTherapy Service (CYPTS) are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic and creative Band 6 Paediatric Occupational Therapist. The post is 3 days a week (0.6 FTE) within our Mendip team, covering Frome and Wells areas. It is a fixed term contract for 8 months. The postholder will ideally have had experience of working in an integrated community therapy service. The post holder will be required to assess and carry out interventions for children and young people with a range of motor, sensory and neurological difficulties, within skill mixed teams. You will also support colleagues to run groups and parent workshops. The service, which was jointly commissioned in October 2009 by NHS Somerset and Somerset Local Authority, comprises Paediatric Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists as well as Therapy Support Practitioners and Administrators. The service is delivered by four integrated therapy teams working geographically across Somerset in clinics, schools, children's centres, other preschool settings and family homes. We have a close working partnership with education and with health colleagues in other services. A post in the CYPTS provides the opportunity to develop integrated working with colleagues from Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy as well as ongoing professional development as an Occupational Therapist. We have an excellent supervision and support structure in place as well as a robust induction programme. Our service was rated 'Good' in all areas at our most recent CQC inspection and the quality of the service provided by the ITS has been recognised at both national and local levels. Interviews will be held at the end of June.
